Three track and field athletes will compete in the state Meet of Champions girls’ events for Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
The three girls representing Bridgewater-Raritan are the most to advance to the Meet of Champions for the school since 2010.
Kaitlyn Chu will run in the 3,200-meter run, Meera Buddhikot will compete in the long jump, and Violette Cornfield will participate in the pole vault during the Meet of Champions on Wednesday, June 3, at Pennsauken High School.
The three juniors each qualified for the Meet of Champions with their performances at the Group 4 state championship meet, held Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, at Franklin High School.
Chu ran for a time of 11:01.72 to place fifth in the 3,2000, while Buddhikot delivered a mark of 17 feet and 4.5 inches to finish seventh in the long jump, and Cornfield cleared 10’ 0” on her third attempt in the pole vault to place eighth.
