2021-09-03-Storm Damage Update - A Message to the Community

Dear Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School Community,

I hope this message finds everyone well and recovering from the effects of tropical storm Ida.  As you are aware, the quantity of rain that fell during a brief interval of time caused extensive damage throughout the community.  Unfortunately, a few of our buildings sustained damage due to the floodwaters.

Crim Primary School, Hamilton Primary School, and the Middle School are the buildings affected by the recent storm and are in need of varying levels of remediation.  Therefore, the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will utilize two of our emergency days on Thursday, September 9, and Friday, September 10. The first day of school for all students will now be Monday, September 13th.

Please be on the lookout for additional correspondence from your building principal on Tuesday, September 7th.

I understand this decision will be disruptive to families throughout the district, but we want to follow procedures that ensure the safety of our learning environments.  We appreciate the kind offers of help from the community and will work through our school organizations to coordinate our efforts.

Beyond the damage to our schools, we understand the ways in which this weather event may have impacted the families in our community. If you need any community support, please click on this link for Somerset County Disaster Relief Information

Best Regards,

Robert Beers
