Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff:
It has been brought to the district’s attention that the daily messages involving COVID-19 may be coming out too frequently and could potentially lessen the importance of future messages. Consequently, in an effort to streamline communication and provide our community with timely information regarding the health of our students and staff, we have developed a COVID-19 Dashboard located on the front page of our website. The chart, which can be accessed here, will be updated on an ongoing and as needed basis. It will reflect the number of positive cases within the district by school. Rest assured that you will be contacted directly if it is determined that you have been impacted by any positive cases, and we will continue to message the entire district for situations of an emergent nature. If you have any questions regarding the information reported, you may contact your building principal.
As we have frequently stated in prior communication, the district works directly with the local health department officials on every incident related to COVID-19 and coordinates closely with public health officials following CDC, state, and local health department guidance in order to assure the health and safety of our community. Going forward, for any information regarding the number of positive cases in your school, please visit the District website here.
We encourage parents, students, and staff to continue following the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) promoted safeguards, such as:
- Staying home when you are sick;
- Washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds;
- Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues;
- Limiting close contact with people who are sick and not sharing food, drinks and utensils;
- Practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart);
- Wearing a face covering while in school; and
- Continuing to monitor your health for symptoms.
As always, we appreciate our community’s support and cooperation. You can assist us by remaining vigilant, but sensible, in your approach to dealing with this health concern. We ask that parents rely on the school officials for accurate information about COVID-19. Below are some resources that may be helpful.
