National Social and Emotional Day

National Social and Emotional Day

Dear Local Communities,

Adamsville School is proud to participate in National Social and Emotional (SEL) Day on March 11, 2022! National SEL Day serves as an opportunity here in Bridgewater to recognize the hard work and dedication our staff has put into implementing SEL in their daily lessons. On March 11th, your child will participate in a day that is dedicated to fun, connection, wellness and social and emotional learning activities. Adamsville teachers have planned activities for the day that support our ongoing focus on developing all students’ social and emotional skills and development.

Social emotional learning is defined as the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Studies show that SEL provides many benefits to students including improved well-being and academic outcomes. SEL Day is an opportunity to spread awareness about the importance and impact of social-emotional learning.

On Friday March 11th, students will engage in a morning meeting that will focus on SEL skills related to taking care of themselves and taking care of each other. Additionally, students will engage in lessons that discuss the importance and power of self-awareness, social awareness and self-care. To end the day, teachers will review and provide activities that foster connection. If you are interested in donating any food items for our event we would greatly appreciate your support.

Thank you in advance,

Adamsville’s SEL Team
